Philippines–Converge coach Delta Pineda apologized for letting Juan Gomez de Liano score a layup in the final seconds of his team’s 106-96 win over Barangay Ginebra that left losing counterpart Tim Cone fuming.
Pineda explained that the decision stemmed from the fact that another basket could benefit the FiberXers in terms of potential tiebreaking scenarios at the end of the eliminations.
